Physical Education is a fun and exciting time where children have the opportunity to learn several important skills that they will use for a lifetime. Children will learn the importance of Godly sportsmanship and the importance of becoming physically fit. Also, they will learn the value of playing team sports and how to compete as a Christian.
Our goal by the end of the year is to train students to achieve peak physical fitness performance and compete for the National and Presidential Physical Fitness standards (which are nationally recognized awards across the United States). Setting high physical education standards challenges students to do their best.
-
K5 students meet once a week for 30 minutes
-
Grades 1st – 4th meet twice a week for 30 minutes
-
Grades 5 and 6 meet twice a week for 50 minutes (these students have extra time due to their need to change into their GSCA PE uniforms)
Through these activities children will gain skills including: teamwork, hand eye coordination, self confidence, and much more. It is our goal to foster a love for physical fitness and sports through our PE program.
Students will also learn that winning isn't everything, but that in everything that they do, whether sports, computers, arts, or any other activity, it is done with this attitude: fully and heartily - unto God and men.
