Good Shepherd Christian Academy now offers ESOL for children ages 4 - 10 years old over the summer. The 7-week summer ESOL unit is designed to help student build a primary foundation of the English/American language. Phonics will teach the learner the sounds of long and short vowels, different consonant sounds, two and three letter blends and spelling words in using the letters in their correct sequence. The students will develop the ability to build words and decode words. All students will know how to put words together to form a complete thought. Students will also be able to gain some proficiency in reading and speaking.
This program is also an excellent way for any child who may need a boost in phonics to re-enforce their knowledge in preparation for the next academic year.
