Good Shepherd and Little Flock Preschool offer extended care from 7:00am-6:00pm providing consistency and care throughout your child’s day. Our extended care program offers a safe, loving environment for children before and after school. Extended care is available on days when the school is in session for all enrolled students. Students are divided into three groups: K3 and K4, K5 and 1st grade and 2nd through 6th grade. Parents may enroll their children in the extended care program through the school office.
Schedule of Activities
• Your child will start off their afternoon with a nutritious snack and recess time to give them a chance to release their energy after a hard day at school.
• Next, they will participate in a variety of activities including playing exciting Bible games, learning new songs, performing skits, and watching short, (30-minute) age-appropriate videos focused on character building and Bible stories.
• Following this period of fun, we will have a 30-minute time frame for our younger students to get them excited about reading. K3-K4 students will have Storytime everyday with visual aids to keep them focused. K5-1st graders will have time to practice their reading skills during Library time.
• Our older students will have an extended period of time to complete their homework in a supportive environment with volunteer Homework Helpers to assist them if needed.
• Following reading time and completion of homework, children are welcomed to have some fun on the playground or the gym (depending on the weather).
